Hotel Haris on the Beach

The pool bar was the one part that let the staff down for me. The younger guy there often came across as rude and uncaring. At reception and breakfast, though, everyone was nice and helpful, and their friendly welcome was a lovely touch. We stayed for a week in July 2023 and had everything we needed for a good holiday. The hotel is right on the beach, with a pool area, a sea-view balcony, and a handy location for exploring the nearby tavernas. Don’t expect luxury or spotless, top-of-the-line cleanliness, but for its price and category, Haris hotel was absolutely fine. That level is pretty average in Greece for this kind of place, and we really enjoyed our stay.

We had a nice stay, and it made a good base for driving around the island. For a family-run 3 star hotel, I wouldn’t expect more. The pool area is fine for hanging out, though it could use better sun-beds, and the rooms are okay with a pretty nice bathroom. It’s good value, directly on a pleasant little beach, and there are plenty of parking spaces at the hotel and along the front street. Breakfast is basic but enough to get you going.

We arrived on Friday 22/8/25 and everything seemed fine at first. On Sunday 24/8/25, we came back from breakfast and found our towels piled up inside the bar, along with the other guests’ towels and beach bags. We’d put them on the free pool deckchairs before heading to breakfast, as we’ve done at other places where we’ve vacationed. There aren’t enough deckchairs for everyone, and nobody had told us about this strange hotel rule or asked permission before moving our things. The young girl at reception was very arrogant and rude, and kept insisting she was right. She said we could use an umbrella on the beach instead, but that costs extra. We think this was very bad behaviour. We’ve never encountered it at any other place we’ve stayed. Regards, Luciana and Tetyana.

At least the rooms and facilities were clean. The rooms themselves are minimal, old and a bit worn down, though the bathrooms seem relatively new and are a high standard. Breakfast was mediocre, with bread that was still frozen in the middle.
