We spent a month here and found the apartment comfortable throughout. It matched the listing, and the rooms felt bigger than they looked in the photos. The beds and couch were comfy, and hot water was always ready. The kitchen had plenty of cookware and utensils, plus some really sharp, good-quality knives. We knew there was no microwave, though after a while we wished we had one for reheating meals. The host was quick to respond and very helpful. Getting around was easy: the Acropolis was about a 15-minute walk and Sygrou–Fix station on the red line about 10 minutes away. There’s a grocery store across the street, a butcher a few blocks down, and lots of restaurants, cafés, and bakeries nearby. We had a very positive stay and would recommend it.
At 1 AM, after arriving from the airport, we were left outside in the middle of Athens with no entry codes. We couldn’t get into the building, and nobody picked up when we called. It was a high-occupancy weekend, so we had to find a hotel willing to take us in the middle of the night. The whole thing was unbelievably rude and unprofessional.
Nikis 33 is in a nice location, but the stay itself was awful. One afternoon we returned and felt someone had gone through our things. The fridge had been switched off, which tipped us off. We reported the robbery to the police and gave statements, but the company didn’t seem to care. Their email replies were generic, almost like they came from a robot. We even warned the neighbors to keep an eye on their belongings and surroundings. The apartment was dusty, with little cockroaches showing up in the kitchen and a light fixture thick with dust. It didn’t seem to have been cleaned for the next traveler. “Cozy” doesn’t describe it. There were also lots of people hanging around the main street-level entrance. Not a nice experience.
I liked being within walking distance of shops and restaurants, and the washer and dryer were handy. Still, that didn’t make up for the state of room ATH001 (4th floor, D1). It was dark and dirty, and I’m pretty sure there was black mold in the bathroom. The photos also don’t show the room accurately. I wouldn’t recommend it as a vacation rental or Airbnb.
A spacious two-bedroom unit in a wonderful location.
