Hotel Koukouras-Lia Apartments

Mrs. Julia and Mr. Stelios really made us feel welcome. Koukouras hotel was very clean, and we had a tasty breakfast, a beautiful beach, and a great location. It was very good value for what we got. There were a few extras, such as paying to use the air conditioning, but I find that environmentally friendly, and the management had explained it to us in advance. We'd love to come back!

When I raised the sudden earlier checkout time, the receptionist got defensive and rude instead of discussing it. She called me a disrespectful teenager, though I'm 23, because the windows were open while the AC was on. I tried to explain that the cleaners had opened them, but she talked over me and wouldn't listen. Later she said I was just too young to handle disappointment. The way she spoke to me was extremely unprofessional. When my travel agency contacted her, she gave them a completely different account, and I expect she'd do the same if she responds here. The room didn't look like the pictures and felt gloomy. The bed and pillows were hard and uncomfortable, and cleaners left the floor wet and disgusting. Checkout was suddenly moved earlier because the room had been booked for new guests.

The view from our balcony was excellent. The linked apartments are right on the beach, while the hotel is across the road, and the location is perfect. The place was lovely and clean, with daily servicing. It's advertised with three bars, but only the beach bar was open, and that closed at 6pm. They did let us buy drinks at the supermarket next door, open until 23:30, and bring them to the pool area.

The best thing is the location, just 10 mts from the sand, which makes it perfect. The apartments are fine but pretty basic for amenities. AC costs extra at 7€ per day. Breakfast is no longer served by the beach because of the high temperature, they said, and is now at a different hotel across the road.
