The small pool has free sunbeds, and the cleaning is excellent. The hotel sits right by the beach, but also next to a busy road. The traffic noise is why I gave it two stars.

The rooms are soft and extremely comfortable, and each is an apartment with a kitchenette. Cleaning is high quality every day except Sunday. Wi-Fi is strong, free, and reaches both the pool and beach, and the air conditioning is complimentary too. The pool area is kept clean, with sunbeds and umbrellas available on the beach at no charge. This part of Stalos has a bit of beach, unlike some places farther up where the loungers feel crammed right at the water's edge. The hotel is freshly renovated and right on the beach. It has a relaxed, friendly feel, with mostly Swedish pensioners on package tours while we were there. Staff are kind and attentive. There's a supermarket next door, though it isn't the cheapest around, and more supermarkets and restaurants are just outside. The bus to Chania stops right outside every 20 minutes. It costs EUR 1.60 to the city center, paid in cash on the bus. The main drawback is constant traffic noise from the road just outside, which carries into every room. I'd strongly recommend earplugs for sleeping. Reception is only staffed around known check-in and check-out times, so it's not ideal if you need lots of service or someone at the desk all the time.

The beach is excellent and not very crowded, with sunbeds available for 2.50 euros a day. Our ground-floor room looked straight out to the sea, less than 50 meters away. Chania is close too, about 30 minutes by bus to the city center, or you can rent a bike. The location is magnificent, and I definitely recommend the place. I hope to come back next holiday season.

The cleaning was really good. Noise from the road and the park across the street cost it a star, though. With decent ear protection, it was a good 4.9 😊
