Konstaninos was an attentive, thoughtful host who picked me up at the ferry and gave me useful tips. He was responsive and easy to reach throughout my stay at Viva Margarita, which was lovely, colourful, and vibrant. The problem was the lack of heating, since late November mornings and nights are cold, and there was no hot water for the shower either.

I only had one night there, and I absolutely loved it. The owner and his wife were wonderful. There’d been a booking mix-up, but he helped me get a room at the last minute and pointed out good places for food and music on a map. In the morning, we had freshly made French press coffee, homemade pastry, and a lovely chat. He also suggested places to see on my next stop. The hotel’s colourful, welcoming look was a nice change from all the stark white places. I just wish I could’ve stayed longer.

The hotel is about three minutes from the port, with supermarkets nearby. There’s also the cutest four-legged furry member of Viva Magarita to welcome you. The kitchen had everything available to use, as long as you follow the rules. The host greets you with such friendly, warm vibes. Love it!

No AC, and when there’s no sun or UV rays, there’s no hot water. I got back after dark on the first night and found none. The next morning, I woke early, waited over 90 minutes, and still had no hot water even with the sun shining. I’m all for sustainable travel, but y’all need a water heater.

Konstantinos is a lovely host who took time to help us find our way around the city and point out notable island sights. We enjoyed having coffee with other guests in the morning and liked the hotel’s decor and overall vibe. The place is fantastic, and it’s only an eight-minute walk from the port.
