Minerva Beach

I couldn't take a shower for the first five days because of the hotel's serious water problems. Sometimes there was no pressure, and other times there was only cold water or scalding hot water. When I told Maria, the hotel employee, that we only had cold water, she laughed and said, "I only shower with cold water anyway." I stayed for 10 days, and the breakfast was the same each day: one kind of salami, boiled eggs, cereal, and marmalade. The food from the restaurant was nice apart from breakfast, and the bar and beach were the only good things about the hotel. The Wi-Fi worked about half the time, and the air conditioning barely cooled the room, with air only slightly colder than the room itself. This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, as of writing this.

We spent a good couple of hours at Minerva on our last day, looking out over the sea while having lunch. The staff had also let us use some beds for beach days, six days in all, as long as we bought drinks, which was no problem. The food and service were great. Mrs C and the boy shared a huge Margarita pizza and a big side of chips with grated cheese. I had a very tasty vegan burger and chips, and we washed it all down with a few drinks. Thanks to everyone at Minerva for letting us use the facilities and for the great service.

You can relax with a drink or meal at the restaurant in front of the beach and watch the sunset. The location is very nice, the place provides the services you need, and the staff are helpful. They've renovated the hotel, and it's getting even more beautiful. It's great! ❤

The rooms are spacious and the service is top-notch, with the hotel right by the beach. If you can, choose a sea-view room. Breakfast gets repetitive, though that seems fair for the price. Chania is 20 minutes away by bus, and there are great restaurants nearby.
