Sea View Villas

The name on the entrance gate is different, so don't let that put you off. This is the lovely Villa Kallia, where we had a fantastic seven-day stay. The garden is gorgeous, full of fruit, flowers, and herbs, and the villa itself is modern and stunning. We felt at home and comfortable every day. The rooms were great and the beds very comfortable, and we didn't lack for anything. We arrived to raki, wine, water, bread, spreads, and plenty of food for our first meals. There was a washing machine and dishwasher, and on the third day a cleaning service brought fresh towels and linens. Someone also came by once to refresh the pool. The barbecue area was fantastic, and they even supplied charcoal for our first barbecue. The beach and shops are an easy walk if you have a bit of stamina. There was lots of room for our two couples, and I think families with children or friends would be welcome too, with plenty of space to keep some distance. The sunsets and crisp morning air were beautiful. We were there at the end of September, when the evenings got a little cool and windy.

The house is quiet and close to Agias Pelagias beach. Heraklion and the airport are both about a 20-30 minute drive away. You can find more photos on Facebook. There is plenty of outdoor space, with a table, chairs, and barbecue, plus a pool area with its own table, chairs, and veranda. The house itself is very large: two double bedrooms and one with two single beds, each with its own bathroom, as well as a shared bathroom, four in total. The kitchen is very large and has lots of equipment and accessories. There's an exercise bike, too, and the living room has a huge sofa and comfortable chairs.

Getting to the beach on foot is easy, but the walk back takes good fitness. I took a taxi for 10 euros. At first, finding the way to the car was a little difficult, until we found a convenient entrance from the main road. Coming from Heraklion on road 75, turn right 300 meters after the BP gas station. There's a similar villa nearby if you want to come with friends. We really enjoyed our stay and felt comfortable. Villa Kalia is beautiful, new, clean, and thoughtfully designed, with deep peace and privacy and excellent air. The clean, attractive kitchen was very comfortable, and everything worked. Each bedroom has its own toilet and shower. The pool was good, with water about 145-160 cm deep and one side a little deeper. The garden was lovely, with real grass, olive trees, small pomegranate trees, and herbs we used in cooking: thyme, rosemary, and thyme (wild plant).

A car is needed to get to nearby Agia Pelagia. The villa was beautiful and well kept, and we got a lovely welcome with thoughtful touches. The owner was very helpful and sorted out the small issues straight away.
