After walking Samaria Gorge, this was a great taverna choice. The host was lovely and service was quick and good. We were surprised by how tasty and high-quality the food was in such a touristy spot. The homemade olive oil was excellent, as was the bread. We had properly cooked calamari rings, shepherds cheese and cretan salad, with a cold beer and a splendid view and atmosphere. It’s also close to the ferry if you’re short on time. Enjoy, kali orexi!

Everything we ordered tasted good and the prices were reasonable. The seafood was incredibly fresh, and the wait was minimal. It was perfect for a bite after hiking the gorge, before catching the ferry. The tzatziki was the best we’d had during our four days in Crete.

After a long hike, it was lovely to sit on the sofa here with a cold beer and a sea view. The restaurant has warm, humble staff and serves excellent, very fresh local fish of the day. Our kids had gyros, which was just perfect.

We had a fantastic dinner at sunset. The lamb chops were so good, among the best we’ve had in Greece after trying plenty over the years. The Greek salad with a special soft cheese is worth trying too, and their own bread was delicious. A great restaurant for food lovers.

11/10! I hadn’t planned to stop here, but after wandering around I’m glad I did. It was just the right place for a well-earned meal and drinks after the Samaria hike. The food came without much of a wait and was delicious: tzatziki, olives and boureki, washed down with two Mythos served in a glass straight from the freezer, just as it should be.
