Wellness Santa Hotel - Adults Only

After only three days of travel, we arrived with heavy bags and asked for help. We were told there was no porter because “the season has not started yet.” Eventually, a spa therapist helped carry our suitcases. Later, our luggage was brought to the room on a trolley and left there. When we asked who would take it away, we were told nobody was available. The receptionist with unsatisfactory comments had to do it for us. Our check-in had already been frustrating. We had booked a room with two separate beds and a sofa bed, as clearly stated and confirmed in our Booking.com reservation, but were first given a room with just one bed. Rather than acknowledge the mistake and fix it promptly, reception staff argued and repeatedly insisted we accept the room. We spent a long time showing them the confirmation. It then took the hotel a very long time to find a room of the category we had originally booked. We couldn’t understand why a confirmed reservation wasn’t honored right away. The room itself was another shock. We deliberately booked the lowest category to see what the hotel offered before considering a longer stay. The description said there was no balcony, but didn’t clearly disclose that there was no proper exterior window either. The window faced an internal hotel corridor. Instead of sunlight and fresh air, opening it brought conversations, noise and activity from inside the hotel. Sounds from the lobby carried remarkably well because of the building’s acoustics, even on lower floors. Anyone wanting privacy, natural ventilation and a real seaside hotel experience should know this before booking. It’s hard to understand how a hotel claiming five-star status can sell a room like this without clearly informing guests. We also found the reception staff’s attitude unwelcoming, with unnecessary arguments instead of professional assistance. A five-star hotel without a porter, with rooms that lack proper exterior windows, and guests greeted with arguments doesn’t match what most people expect from a luxury stay. We had just checked in, and already spent nearly an hour discussing and trying to clear up the room setup we’d requested and confirmed. Based on our experience, Wellness Santa Hotel fell far short of the standards we associate with a genuine five-star property. There are many hotels along this coastline, and based on this first impression, we strongly encourage travelers to explore other options before choosing Wellness Santa Hotel. Transparency, professionalism and genuine hospitality are fundamental to a luxury experience, and unfortunately we haven’t encountered them here.

The outdoor pool and indoor spa facilities were the highlights, and breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The hotel is very clean and well maintained, right on the beach in Agia Triada. The interior is heavily Baroque, with lots of marble and ornate furniture. It seems like a relaxing stay, just a short drive from the airport.

The service was great, the pool was nice, and breakfast was great too. The place felt luxurious, and free towels, chairs and umbrellas were provided at the beach. The beach itself was poor. The water was dirty and oily, and I had to wash a lot in the shower afterward to get rid of the greasy feeling. The location is very close to Thessaloniki, so the water is dirty. We booked multiple rooms, and they had all kinds of bugs and different problems. One had a clogged shower, another’s air conditioning wasn’t working properly, one had no mosquito net, and a door in another room wouldn’t lock. The 5-th floor restaurant wasn’t operating, and the sky garden was closed too.

Everything was well organized, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The rooms were spacious, clean and well maintained, and the hotel is beautiful with everything needed for a comfortable stay. I had a great time and would gladly return. I’d definitely recommend it.
