The room controls were a clever touch, with separate buttons for cleaning and Do Not Disturb. The housekeeper was so quick that she sometimes finished before we were done with breakfast, hahaha. Breakfast itself had lots of choice and there was always enough for everyone. We also used the car rental service, which made it easy to get to places like Falassarna Beach and Lake Kournas. The hosts shared plenty of ideas for places to see around the island. Whenever we needed help or had a question, the staff were quick and glad to assist. Our stay at Eloque Simple Living Space in Chania was wonderful. The hotel was exceptionally clean, and the location worked really well: Chania city center was about 20 minutes away by bus. We’d happily return and recommend it to anyone visiting Crete.

Parking is set aside for Eloque customers. Driving up the hill from the main road, look to the left about halfway up for the parking area. For the price, I really have no complaints. The hotel has been newly renovated, with a spotless room, comfortable bed and pillows, a decent bathroom with very strong water pressure, a nice balcony and a pool to unwind by. It’s in a pleasant area, with good restaurants and beaches within walking distance. Chania also makes a great base for exploring Crete. I’d definitely recommend it.

Breakfast was fresh, and they brought out something different each day. We stayed for seven days, so that was a nice touch. If you arrive early, you might get a freshly baked baguette. We had a small problem with the air conditioning, but everything else was great. The rooms looked recently renovated and were very clean, with a nice balcony. The hotel is in a great spot, about ten minutes from Chania. It sits at the end of a narrow road on a small hill. There are only a few parking spaces on the street, but we always found a spot on the Main Street below and walked up for about two minutes.

Irini, who serves breakfast and drinks, was sweet, attentive, and really helpful. It was lovely meeting her, she has a true Cretan spirit. Even so, this was a bad Cretan experience for us, and I can’t recommend the hotel. I still wish the owner all the best. The noise made it hard to sleep. The doors hadn’t been replaced during the renovation, so we could hear every little sound in the hallway and other rooms, including showers, handwashing, snoring, and people talking. Some guests were loud too, with children playing and screaming late into the night. Nearly everyone else seemed to have the same problem. When we brought it up, the owner raised his voice. He knows about the issue but doesn’t tell customers, which left us feeling taken for fools. With such poor sleep, the hotel felt far too expensive. The rooms were also tiny, despite being listed as 17 square metres. At breakfast, cats wandered around. If you left your table for even three minutes, they jumped up and shared your meal.

After a day out exploring the island, we could come back to a restful sleep after watching the sunset over Chania’s rooftops and the sea from our balcony. The hotel is set back from the main street, so it stays quiet, and there’s a refrigerator downstairs with cold drinks available any time, day or night. It’s an intimate, friendly place that suited us as a couple. Breakfast was delicious, with both sweet and savory options. There’s plenty to see around the island, and Giorgios and Irin were happy to suggest places to eat, beaches to visit, and things to try while on holiday. The price was very affordable too. Thanks for having us!
