We came away with lovely memories and a very good impression. The dining area was open and beautiful, with a sea view if you ate outside. There was a good range of tasty dishes, fruit, and cakes, plus clean chilled water, juices, beer, and wine. The kitchen staff were kind and helpful, and we enjoyed having a drink at the pool bar in the evenings. Do try the Ouzo drink. Our room had a beautiful view of Agios Georgios beach. The bathroom was basic and the sink was a little damaged, but everything worked. We were surprised that the tap and shower water tasted salty. The toilet paper couldn’t be flushed, though that’s standard. Room cleaning could have been better, and the sheets were changed only about twice during our stay from September 2nd to September 9th. Check-in at reception was quick, and a staff member carried our bags up the many stairs, which didn’t bother us.

We’re two days into our five-day stay in May 2023, and the hotel seems to have opened before it was ready. There are a lot of safety issues: handrails aren’t secured to the wall, the pool steps are loose, and the floors are slippery. The hotel itself needs repairs. In the room, the floors are dirty and the bathrooms need repair and a deep clean. The shower isn’t properly fixed to the wall, so you have to hold the shower head to use it. The food is nice, but there isn’t much choice. Staff haven’t been helpful. We’ve tried to make the best of it since this is the holiday we booked, but unfortunately I wouldn’t come back.

The setting is stunning and the staff tried their best, though communication was pretty poor. The constant sewage smell was disgusting, and there were far too many plastic cups. There are so many stairs, too. Lunch and dinner were terrible, pretty much the same food each day and seemingly reconstituted. The hotel felt more suited to a club 18-30 crowd. If I’d been away with a group of lads or gals, it might have been great, but it didn’t work for a romantic, relaxing trip with my partner. Even small comforts were missing: tea and coffee with milk in the rooms, and a TV that worked for a bit of home comfort after a long day out.

It was a really relaxing holiday in a calm, beautiful place, and I’d recommend visiting. My girlfriend and I had a great time at the hotel, and I enjoyed every meal. A special mention for Spiros, the bartender by the pool. He’s a great guy and would do anything for the customers.

We had such a good week at the Brilliant Resort/Porto Demo Hotel in Corfu that I’m already thinking about another visit. It’s a lovely spot to unwind, and we came home feeling completely relaxed. The rooms were cleaned every day, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and plentiful, thanks to the maitre d, Napoleon, and his team.
