Vorto House

The hosts were the best, and the accommodation was very well equipped. It’s set in picturesque surroundings.

The village was a lovely part of the stay. We went every day to the family-run cafe down the road, with the inimitable Diamantina in charge, as well as the neighboring bakery and the minimarket run by an affable Greek-Canadian. The village isn’t especially close to the island’s more popular areas, but our rental car made that no trouble, and we loved the nearby beaches. We spent 10 days at Vorto House in July 2022. It’s a cozy, pleasant place that was spotlessly clean, with a courtyard where we could sit in the shade during the heat of the day or cool off under the stars at night. Iannis, the owner, was a wonderful host with great style and stories about his 200-year-old house. Xristina came every second day to clean and make the beds, and she was very nice and helpful.

Such a great find, and the best stay you can have on all of Zakynthos. It works perfectly for 2-6 people, with 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, TV, wlan, 2 bathrooms with showers, a washing machine, private parking, and everything else you need. The housekeeping was lovely. Just awesome, we’re so happy we found this place!

The owner was incredibly kind and welcomed us with wine, local beers, watermelon, bread, and homemade honey. Cristina also shared tomatoes and cucumbers from her garden and fresh eggs, and changed our linens during the stay. The place is modern and very well maintained, in a fantastic location in a small village with excellent places to eat. It’s arranged as two apartments: downstairs there’s a double bed and bathroom, while upstairs has two bedrooms, a living room with a sofa bed, and a second bathroom.
