The bathroom in room 10 had no window or extractor fan, and the stench was awful. It seemed to be coming from a drain problem. There was nobody available to contact on the first day, so we left as soon as we could the following day. The owner wouldn't offer a discount. This isn't a proper hotel, and the apartments aren't proper apartments either. Disgusting. I wouldn't let my dog stay here. Do not stay here.

Maria was lovely, knew the area well, and was quick to sort out any problems. There's also a well-stocked shop/supermarket above reception. We had breakfast at the coffee place with a restaurant upstairs, and enjoyed the local tavernas across the road by the beach. The food there was lovely. The apartments are beautiful and restful, with everything we needed for self-catering. Ours had terraces at both the front and back and was close to the nice pool area. We'd definitely stay again.

The room was pretty basic, with little furniture, but the A/C worked well and there was a terrace. Having direct access to the beach was great, and two sunbeds cost €10 a day. The bathroom was tiny, especially the shower. Staff were friendly and even offered me a Freddo espresso before the coffee shop opened.

The beach just across from the hotel is such a good spot, quiet and sheltered from the wind, with hardly any stones and very few tourists. The hotel itself is simple, but breakfast is hearty and the staff are friendly, hardworking people. We hated having to leave this little piece of heaven.

We spent two weeks in September in Agios Nikolaos at Hotel Ammoudara, and were struck by how friendly everyone was, not just the hotel staff. We were treated courteously everywhere, and all our wishes were taken care of. Thanks, Maria, for your help, and greetings to the guys at the taverna across the street. The food and weather were great too.
