Elounda Peninsula Luxury Resort

The staff at breakfast deserve a special mention. Although it was full table service, they gladly made adjustments and were warm and attentive. Everyone seemed willing to help, not just the person assigned to our table, and they were lovely with our son. Breakfast was a highlight every morning. We stayed in October as a family of three in room 3159, a split-level room with a private pool. We arrived late, but the staff were patient and accommodating. The room looked newly renovated and spotless, and in person it was much better than the limited photos on the hotel's website. The layout and space exceeded what we had expected. The resort was very family-friendly. The children's pool was gently heated and great for little ones, with plenty to do around the grounds. We didn't use the creche much because we were happy spending time together on site. We also took the pontoon to a sister property and had a delicious meal at the Old Mill restaurant, well worth the short trip. The private beaches may be the best on the island, with soft sand and wave breakers that kept the water calm. From our room the view was beautiful, and waking to the sound of the water was unforgettable. It felt like a hidden gem since it hadn't appeared high in our search results. The location, private beaches, and overall experience were far better for families than Domes, where we'd also stayed. Between the setting, service, and care in the details, this was one of the best hotels we've visited. We'd love to come back.

After five days at this secluded cove, we're already eager to return. We had sea-view rooms and a private beach, while Agios Nikolaos and Elounda were only a short drive away. The place is Greek-owned, not part of a big anonymous chain, and still felt very luxurious, including its six senses spa. The staff were attentive and friendly, and added thoughtful touches to help us celebrate a very special occasion. There were plenty of food choices, all delicious. It was a truly magical stay.

The pools are luxurious and use salt water, which feels gentler on the environment. Floating in them was really nice, to be honest. The rooms were excellent, and the breakfast restaurant is cleverly sheltered from the wind while still giving you a fantastic sunrise view.

The staff made this stay special. They were wonderful and hospitable, and looked after all our needs. We loved the spacious rooms and fantastic water views, and the whole area felt like a gorgeous little village. There was lots to do at the hotel and nearby, with plenty of dining choices. Sumosan, Old Mill, and Greek Opa night were favourites, and room service was consistently good. We were there as a young couple without children, and the resort is very, very family-oriented. That's great for families, with so many activities to keep everyone entertained, but we felt it was perhaps geared more toward them. Still, there was plenty for couples to do, quiet spots by the beach, and the restaurants didn't feel full of kids at night. Families made up most of the guests, and we could see why. We had an amazing week and miss the place already. We'd love to return.
