Georgina Inn Hotel

The beach takes several minutes to reach on foot, but we didn’t find it very nice or comfortable, so we rented a car to visit better equipped beaches. The hotel is rated 3 stars, and that’s about what you get. We did get a warm, pleasant welcome, and the renovated room across the street was nice. The food, though, was at a 3-star level too.

It’s a pleasant family hotel with nice people, a clean pool and plenty of sunbeds, so we could always find a spot. Our room was cleaned really well every day, and they brought us two bigger pillows when we asked for one. The AC was great, and even though we overslept and missed breakfast, they kindly served us. The food was excellent, though it was the same every day and we eventually got tired of it.

Avoid this hotel. I’ve stayed in all kinds of places around the world, and this was worse than terrible. “All inclusive” meant wine only, with no beer or spirits. Dinner was inedible, with only about four trays of food each night, and a woman serving everyone, which defeats the point of all inclusive. The pool was full of bugs and never cleaned. One day a chicken got loose, fell into the pool, and drowned while people were nearby. We stayed five days, and our room was never cleaned; the towels weren’t changed once. We’d paid months earlier for an air-conditioned room, but on arrival we were still asked to pay extra. The woman running the hotel seemed to be pocketing the money. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, and the biggest scam and false advertising I’ve seen. Please avoid it.

I saved for a long time to take my children on holiday. I wasn’t expecting perfection, just clean beds and towels, but we came home with stomach problems and rashes and had to book GP appointments for all of us after getting back to the UK. The hotel was dirty and had broken toilets that wouldn’t flush, broken furniture, trip hazards, ants’ nests in the restaurant, and sewage draining near the pool. Cleaning chemicals were left out by the pool all week. The pool also felt dangerous, and there was no all-inclusive food available. I saw them wash sheets with a garden hose, and the sheets and towels were washed that way. The owner then said she wanted us out because all British guests do is moan, and threatened to have the police remove me if I didn’t leave. There’s a lot more wrong, but I can’t list it all. Please don’t give these people your money. You won’t enjoy it and may well need medical attention. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
