Koukla Mare

10/10. I come back to this gem every year. Yannis and his family run the warmest, coolest and cleanest apartments on the island. There's a nice pool that never gets too crowded, and my malakia runs the new bar and food. The parking spots near the apartment are handy too, so your rental car is safe!

I spent an amazing week here in August. Koukla Mare studios is a great base for exploring the island, close to the beach, a beach bar, and places to rent a boat or SUP. It's a perfect fit for young people as well as families. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and very clean, and the owners are always friendly and helpful. The pool area is spotless, with plenty of sun loungers and a pool big enough for all the guests. I highly recommend it.

We stayed at Koukla Mare Studios in mid-July and would happily come back. Our host, Sissi, was very nice and polite. She asked when we'd like breakfast brought to the room, showed us around the markets, beach and rentals, and even helped arrange the car rental delivery at the main entrance. She also let us enjoy the pool on our last day instead of checking out early. The room was spacious and cosy, with AC, TV and kitchen necessities. The balcony was roomy and faced the pool. Housekeeping came every two days, and the pool was cleaned each evening, with plenty of sunbeds around. The charming beach is a two-minute walk away, with a bar and restaurant. The nearby street is quiet and has two mini markets.

We especially liked the quiet and the Tropics beach bar right in front of the apartments. There’s also a pleasant taverna beside the mini market. The place was clean, and the welcoming family made our stay a nice one.
