Hotel Alkyon

That little balcony had a lovely sea view, which was a real bonus. My single room was very small, though usable, and the bathroom felt cramped. There wasn't much space or anything extra in the room, but it worked for a night or two. The staff were courteous, friendly, and accommodating. You're close to the center, the waterfront, and plenty of cafes and bars. For the right price, it's an okay place to stay.

The room itself wasn't too bad, but the way the receptionist treated us left me really unhappy. After a long drive, I asked for a glass of white wine to relax. She said they didn't have any, then brought out a small, warm bottle from the back and charged me 10 euros for it. The women working there came across as rude and uninterested, and the whole hotel felt miserable. This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff need to change their attitude.

The breakfast was quite adequate, and we didn't have any unpleasant incidents with the staff, though they seemed a little more reserved than you'd expect from Greek hospitality. The rooms were clean and the air conditioning worked properly. The bathroom and toilet are narrow, but usable. It's an older hotel, yet perfectly sufficient for a 2-3 day visit and good value for the price.

An affordable hotel right in the center of Alexandroupoli, close to the sea, with lovely views and restaurants nearby. Breakfast was good. The room could use a little refreshing.
