We had a terrible stay. The mattress sagged and felt like concrete, there were no towels or toilet paper, and the rubbish was overflowing. The doors were broken, with the bathroom door scraping the floor and slamming loudly when we tried to close it. Nearby bar music echoed and vibrated through the apartment, and the mattress alone was bad enough to put us off. We paid extra because housekeeping was listed, but it wasn't done. We were promised someone would come, but nobody did, and without towels we couldn't shower. Check-in instructions never arrived, so we drove around waiting for a reply to our messages. We waited hours for responses, and some messages got no reply at all. After checkout, the owner called to say daily housekeeping wasn't offered, even though our screenshot of the booking conditions clearly said it was included. The owner blamed Expedia, and Expedia blamed the owner. The four-star rating is completely wrong, this is a two-star place. The owner took no responsibility and refused any compensation, $0.

The spaces are beautiful, but Queen nightclub is basically in the same building and makes the walls vibrate every night until 3am. We stayed Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights, and sleeping was horrible each night. If you need to sleep, go somewhere else.

The location was great, with most places in Rethymo within walking distance. But the disco downstairs played music until 4am, and the cleaning and kitchenware both need real improvement.

A lovely apartment suite on Arcadia St., just steps from the beach. The only issue is that heritage rules apparently prevent an elevator being installed or the Venetian-period staircase being repaired, and one step is dangerously worn. Enjoy your stay, but watch your step.

Zina, the owner, made us feel incredibly welcome. The apartment was cozy, nicely decorated, comfortable, spacious enough to relax in, and very clean and new. It's only 50 meters from the sea, right in the center of the beach road in Rethymno. You don't need a car, bike, or other transfer to see the city or go swimming. Restaurants, cafes, shops, and small markets are all around you. Thank you, Zina, see you next time!
