Hotel Plessas Palace

We liked exploring the resort, which was lovely, so we didn't try the bar or restaurant on site. The pool area was nice, though there weren't many sun loungers unless you got there early. Our self-catering room, booked through Tui holidays, was clean and well serviced, including the bed and bedding. The decor was quite dated, and there was very little equipment for cooking meals.

We first stayed here in 2021, right at the end of covid, and that's when we fell in love with the island. So much of that feeling comes from its people, including Nikos & Maria, who are always helpful and accommodating. This family-run hotel is why we return year after year. It's at the top of Alykanas, with bars and restaurants a short walk away and the beach about 7-8 minutes on foot. The rooms are very good and the beds are comfy. The pool has just been renovated and looks lovely, and the sunbeds now have thick new pads. Can't wait to try them.

Our room was dirty, covered in mold, and had live wires exposed throughout. The entry door was hanging on by just four screws. My partner and I had been sent to a building that wasn't even advertised on the site and was completely detached from the hotel. When we complained, the manager said the room we'd booked was unavailable because she'd let someone else stay in it. The customer service was honestly shocking. Also, be careful around the plessas quad shop opposite the hotel if you decide to stay here. My friend had rented a quad from another shop after we'd paid for the plessas quads for four days. The next morning, fuel from all three quads was gone. We'd left them in the hotel parking area. When we asked to see the CCTV, we were told the footage was unclear and there was no camera covering the spot where we'd parked.

We arrived on 26th September 2025, and at first the place looked lovely. Then I tried to shower and found there was no hot water. We told reception, but nothing was done and they said there was no problem. Five days later, they admitted there had been issues and said they should be fixed. They weren't, and we were moved to somewhere that can only be described as Stalag Luft 3, even worse than the first place. TUI contacted the hotel, and the offer was a free safety deposit box, drink, or continental breakfast. We wouldn't have used any of those, so in the end we got nothing. The people were lovely, but the accommodation was absolutely not. A word of warning, go elsewhere.
