Okeanides Villas

The photos in the ads gave me a different impression of the villa, which felt quite outdated in person. As a photographer, I expect images to stay realistic so clients know what they’ll find, and the drone video was posted 6 years ago. I came with friends to celebrate my birthday, but the power went out due to unforeseen circumstances, and it seems the water pump depended on electricity, so we were left without both. With 6 to 8 people in a villa, that quickly became a nightmare. The reservation platform also didn’t make clear that one villa was almost a car ride away from the others because of the steep incline, so the villas didn’t work well for a large group. I came hoping to make great birthday memories, but left with a sour feeling. Fortunately, we switched to accommodation closer to the village, where it was easier to get to amenities. The manager communicated well, but showed little compassion and didn’t make a commercial gesture.

Yannis made us lovely breakfasts every morning, and we had a wonderful week at Villa Pytho. The pool had a great sea view, and we had no power problems. The internet worked throughout the villa. Thanks again 😊

The place had potential and looked quite charming at first, but our stay was spoiled by serious problems. For more than 24 hours we had neither electricity nor running water, and there was no mobile network at all, so we couldn’t use our phones to communicate or look things up. The owner didn’t offer any compensation, which we found very disappointing.

The electricity kept cutting out, apparently as a recurring problem limited to the villas rather than the wider area. When the power went, we had no lights, kitchen, or fridge, and the water pumps stopped too, so there was no water and the blinds couldn’t be opened. Picture a group of friends on holiday, unable to walk between villas easily, with no power for 24 hours or more, no showers or toilets, food spoiling in the fridge, the sea view blocked by closed blinds, and no heating or A/C. Not a great holiday. The houses also weren’t fit for 6 adults. One bedroom was 8m2, with two single beds at different heights set perpendicular to each other and barely any room left. The photos and description were misleading, and the place wasn’t really luxurious or comfortable. There are so many options on the island, and in the vast majority of cases you’d be happier somewhere else. I’d recommend staying away from this rental.
