Getting into town by public transport isn’t possible, so you need a car. The rooms are small but practical, and the balcony view is stunning. The beach is just a few steps down. Wi-Fi is available, though it can be erratic. The owners are very helpful, and if you tell them about a problem, they sort it out quickly. Housekeeping was the frustrating part. I don’t want the room cleaned and linens changed at 1:00 PM while I’m eating, or worse, at 2:00 PM or 3:00 PM during rest hours. That felt annoying and unprofessional.

Almirida has an excellent location, the best around. The serious problem is the apartment parking exit, where there’s a large, unsealed pothole on the turn onto the road. The exit is steep, and you can’t see the hole from behind the wheel. It’s stressful to drive out, and the car’s undercarriage and sills could be seriously damaged. You need someone to help guide you out.
