Galatis Hotel

The location is good, and the attached restaurant is okay, but breakfast is very lacking. The rooms were the worst part: disgusting, with mold in the shower and along the bottom of the wall outside the bathroom. My wife and I also woke up with dozens of bug bites all over our legs.

The location is great, right on the beach, and there's a refreshing pool with loungers, tables, chairs, and umbrellas. You can rinse off at several outdoor showers. The pool closes from 2-6pm. Breakfast is simple, with bread, croissants, yogurt, and juices, while the hotel's own restaurant serves delicious Greek food on the patio. I'd highly recommend dinner there. The rooms are cute and homey. The twin beds weren't very comfortable, but I still felt rested in the morning. I'd happily come back!

Laura 💜 was a shining star, always kind, cheerful, and so helpful. She felt like a close friend from day one 🙏🏻. The rest of the staff were kind and tried to help, though sometimes there was a language barrier or they didn't know what to do. The location is great: a beach is right in front of the hotel, and once you're in the water it grows on you. Restaurants and shops are a 10-minute walk away, and the bus stop is one minute away. The sheets and towels were always clean 🙏🏻, and the fresh orange juice was the best and cheap 💜. But the rooms are very small, even for two people. With suitcases, it's hard to move around or find space for your things without shifting them constantly. The worst problem was the water. Sometimes there was no water in the morning or early evening, and on the first day I had to rinse shampoo off in the shower by the pool. Even for a hotel that's not 4 stars, this is a basic thing that should work. Beach towels need a 5€ deposit, which is returned, but the towels themselves are small, old, and don't absorb water. For a night or two, I think it's okay, but I wouldn't stay longer.

I had mixed feelings going in after reading the reviews, but kept an open mind and came away pleasantly surprised. From the ferry pickup to the final drop-off, the staff, room, meals, and hotel were all excellent. The water wasn't always hot, though it did get us clean. The location is beautiful, and the rooms were very clean with plenty of space for our things. The housekeepers are incredible. Anastasia at the front desk keeps things running smoothly and is very helpful. The restaurant staff were amazing, and so was the food. Alyki Paros is now one of my favorite places, and I'll be back.
