Filippos Apartments

We stayed at Philippos apartments for over a week with the kids and felt like part of the family. They even let us decorate for my birthday, which made me feel really special. Thanks for such a warm stay. Hope we can spend more time there next summer.

We got exactly the kind of break we needed in the little town of Amarynthos. There are plenty of bars and restaurants around, but it stays calmer than a bigger place, and good coffee shops and great restaurants are just a minute away. Filippos was a caring, lovely host. From our comfortable bed we could look out at the sea, which made it easy to unwind.

The setting is hard to beat. You're right by the water, can hear the waves from the room, and it's only a short walk to swim. Shops and restaurants are close too. The rooms themselves are spacious, attractive, clean, and fitted with modern appliances. But Filippos made our two-night stay stressful. After a smooth check-in, he questioned us about using the air conditioning when we returned from a walk. He also said we'd have to move rooms the following day because our booking had been made at short notice. We accepted and were told checkout was at 11am. The next morning, he reminded us to leave as we went for coffee nearby. From 10am on, he kept knocking, saying the next guests had arrived and were waiting outside. We had to repeat that checkout was 11 as agreed. He then asked to come in and clean while we were still getting ready for a local event, saying we could leave our things and he'd move them to the next room. We declined and checked out at 11. He said the next room would be ready at 1pm, but when we returned at 2, it wasn't. We left our luggage in the car and went about our day, then came back at 7pm to check in. Our room on the top floor was very hot, with the windows shut and the air conditioning off. The bedroom unit worked when we turned it on, but the one in the kitchen and sitting area didn't. We found it unplugged, with the cord hidden. The next morning Filippos knocked again and scolded us for plugging in and turning on that unit. It's a shame, because the rooms are so nicely done and the location is great. Filippos's close watch made the stay unpleasant, and I wouldn't recommend it.

The best part was seeing my mother happy after we finally took a vacation together after a long time. The apartment with a sea view was amazing, just 10 meters from the water, and had a large balcony for coffee and sunbathing in the morning. Mr Filippos gave us such a warm welcome.
