Vigla Apartments No.3

The hosts were so thoughtful and kind that we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. The view from Vigla Apartments in Amigdalokefali is stunning, and the nights were incredibly quiet and peaceful, just right for a good rest. Getting to the property was easy. The apartment was very comfortable and had everything we needed: a fully equipped kitchen, an anti-mosquito device, and a fridge with water, juice, fresh fruit and raki. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and having free parking was a big plus. Highly recommended!

The location gives you spectacular views and puts you close to the main beaches on the west coast. The apartment was clean and very comfortable, and the property was exceptionally well kept. Mixalis went out of his way to make our stay a good one. When my wife hurt her knee, he even helped us find medication. I’d stay there again without hesitation.

The owner’s sincere hospitality was what surprised me most. It felt like the kind of welcome I’ve only had from close friends, and I think I’ve made another friend after this trip. The apartments are gorgeous and newly renovated, with new equipment including an oven, stove, dishwasher, washing machine and espresso machine. Everything was tidy and clean. You get rural vibes with city comforts, plus an amazing view of the bay from the apartment terrace. Beautiful beaches are just a 30-minute drive away. I travel a lot but can’t remember a more wonderful, relaxing place. If there’s a paradise on earth, this might be it. We’re definitely coming back.

The apartment was new, nicely decorated and comfortable, with good air conditioning, a good bed, a great shower and a full kitchen. We stayed for a week and will definitely come back. The family welcomed us with a fruit basket, wine, bread and a toast of Raki, the traditional drink. They also gave us warm traditional herb pies, which we found much tastier than the ones we later ordered at restaurants. It’s in the mountains of crete and feels like a mystical place, with a view of the island’s most beautiful beach. Elafonisse is a 30-minute drive away, and spending the day there before coming back for sunset from the apartment balcony is worth every second. We were loaned an umbrella and an ice chest for the beach. There were even binoculars for watching the sheep climb the mountains at the end of the day, their bells ringing. We travel a lot, and this was the best experience we’ve ever had.
