This was our second visit to Vaya Suites, and a very disappointing one. We paid €108 for a two-room suite with a jacuzzi, but when we arrived around 8 PM, it was switched off and freezing cold. Reception told us how to turn it on, but the water stayed extremely cold. Reception closed at 11:30 PM, so there was no one else to ask. We spent the night anxiously checking whether it would work, but never got to use the jacuzzi. I couldn’t sleep, and it was one of the worst nights of my life. The next morning, staff politely explained that the housekeeper had forgotten to switch it on and offered a discount on a future stay. They were kind about it, but the ruined night left us extremely disappointed.

The location felt peaceful while still being close to everything, and the hotel had lovely views and a great atmosphere. The staff were welcoming, and the beautiful rooms had everything we needed. We had an amazing stay and would definitely return!

The private jacuzzi was the best part of our one-night stay. The room was clean, the shower was nice, and parking was available. My only real issue was the bed: two single beds pushed together kept moving apart. That matters a lot to me, so I’m giving four stars instead of five. A clip on the legs and a mattress topper seem like easy fixes. I hope the hotel considers it.

The room was small but clean, with a nice balcony. There was some noise from the nearby school and the busier main street. The staff were friendly, but that’s the only good thing I can say. On our second night, my wife and I turned on the hot tub for a relaxing evening. After five minutes, the water was still the same temperature. When I touched it, I got an electric shock. I went inside for five minutes, then came back and tried again. The temperature still hadn’t changed, and the second shock was worse. My wrist was still tingling the next day. There’s no 24-hour reception at Vaya, so we reported it to staff at the sister hotel. They said it was a common occurrence in that room and nothing to worry about. When I insisted it was a serious problem, they asked if the shock was bad and said a technician had checked the wiring, which was correct, but that a little shock might happen if the temperature was set high. This could be deadly. It’s a known issue that should have been fixed the first time it happened. Don’t stay here. If you do and get room C4, DO NOT use the hot tub. The photo shows how they left its panel.

We spent 16 days here and were very happy with our two-room ground-floor suite, which we requested to avoid cigarette smoke drifting in. It had a spacious living room with a little pantry, a small fridge, a two-ring electric cooker, pans, and enough dishes and cutlery for two. We used it to make breakfast. The bedroom had a comfortable double bed and ceiling fan, and we left the living room air conditioning running with the door open to cool both rooms. The bathroom was clean, with a nice vanity and sink, toilet, and a great rain shower with strong water pressure. Outside the living room and bedroom was a large terrace with a jacuzzi that we used nearly every day. Staff were friendly and accommodating whenever we needed help, and we could park our rental car on the property. The beach was a five-minute walk away. It really felt like a home away from home.
