Rodi Blue Apartments

For a longer visit, this was a good deal for the price. The room was large and comfortable enough to sleep and feel cozy, though the furniture and fittings aren’t new or top quality. It was clean overall, but some dishes needed extra washing before we used them. There were several beds, a safe, balcony, fridge, cooking area, kettle, hair dryer, soap, shampoo, towels, a table and chairs inside and another set on the balcony, plus a washing machine and a small place to hang laundry outside. The host leaves the keys at reception, so you can check in any time, 24/7. The pool was clean, but the water might feel too cold in September if you prefer it warmer. The beach is a short walk away, and there’s a supermarket about two minutes away on foot, along with restaurants and gift shops just minutes away.

The host was kind and helpful, and the hotel was quiet, with large rooms, an elevator, and a small kitchen that worked well for breakfast. There’s a private pool. There’s no hotel parking, but free public parking is about 300 metres away. The beach is a seven-minute walk.

For one night, this was a clean, organized place with enough room, and I could recommend it. The location was good. I gave it four stars because the air conditioner wasn’t powerful enough to cool the whole room, and I think the kitchen could use better equipment.

The price was quite reasonable, and the staff were absolutely lovely and welcoming. The location is decent, too. But Rodi Blue Apartments in Heraklion needs a lot of work. The apartments feel outdated, and I found the place pretty dirty, with dusty surfaces and grime in corners that made me uncomfortable as someone who’s a bit of a clean freak. I’d consider coming back if they did a deep clean and modernized things, but right now the cleanliness didn’t meet my expectations.
