The Santo George Beach Resort Hotel

The breakfast was included and had a nice range of buffet options, and checkout was at a reasonable time for self-catering. We found the price fair, especially with breakfast in the deal. Our room at Santo George Beach Resort was clean, roomy, and nicely decorated. The beds were large and very comfortable. The pillows were softer than we prefer, though there were extra ones, so we managed. I also loved the shower, it was easy to use and one of the best power showers I’ve had. We were only there overnight, but it was a comfortable stop with what we needed to relax. If we come back to Heraklion for an event or a short break, we’d consider staying here again. The location was handy, with a bus stop and nice shops and restaurants nearby, and breakfast was good. Service was okay too. Reception was usually empty, but when someone was there, they were helpful. Our room wasn’t one of the renovated ones. It smelled bad, had stains, and there were lots of ants. The power also went out, so bear that in mind. They were still building and renovating while we were there. After the renovation is finished, I think it could be at least four stars.

The breakfast was better than we expected for the price, and the hotel seemed very clean. Our room was spacious, looked recently renovated, and was cleaned every day. It’s a pleasant, small hotel right by the beach, and a nice quiet place to sleep if, like us, you’re out and about a lot. There’s a green button at the door for cleaning and a red one for do not disturb. The cleaner came into our room twice while the red light was on, though she was very friendly. The owner wasn’t rude, but I think he could have been a bit friendlier.

Marina, who made breakfast, was so sweet and really good at her job. The food, drinks, and sweets were all great, with an easy choice of things to eat. I especially liked how she organized each food station. Our room was very tidy, and it was cleaned every day except Sunday. The kitchen had the basics: a microwave, toaster, electric stove, and small fridge. We also used the rent-a-car service, which was quick and easy.
