I didn’t have a good experience here, and I wouldn’t recommend staying for more than a few days. There was very little hot water or heating, which meant frequent freezing showers and very cold nights. Most of the trip there was no hot water, and the washing machine couldn’t properly get stains and similar marks out of our clothes. The hotel also didn’t have enough spare blankets for guests dealing with the cold. The cleaner came just once during our three-week stay, two weeks in. They swept and mopped, rearranged our room for some reason, and left doors to several bedrooms unlocked, so our belongings weren’t protected. The air conditioner’s heating function didn’t work well in a couple of rooms, and some bedrooms didn’t have air conditioning at all. Without a balcony or air conditioning, clothes, hotel towels, and sheets could take days to dry. We had to change and wash these ourselves, and while they were drying, it was very unlikely there’d be spares to use. The hotel was seriously short of those too.

We ate here for breakfast and dinner every day of the week. The portions were generous, and everything tasted so good that we still wanted more. The rooms and food were reasonably priced, and the beach was only a few minutes away on foot. A lovely, clean and tidy place run by a very kind Greek family.

I spent 10 days here and had a really nice stay. The family running the hotel and tavern were so friendly, even though I hadn’t expected much. I mentioned that I’m vegetarian, which seems a little unusual in Greece ✌️😉, and they made me something special every day. The room was very clean, and I had a big balcony to enjoy their hospitality. It’s a simple, three-star kind of place, with the basics you need rather than a TV or luxuries. I can definitely recommend it.

The family tavern, run by two daughters, their mother, one daughter’s husband, and the girls’ aunt, is a lovely spot for affordable meals at any time of day. We ordered seafood pasta and musaka, both delicious and enormous. They brought out tzatziki on the house to start, then sweet cakes and pomegranate raki at the end. The girls were always smiling and so cute, which made the whole meal feel even nicer. There were two calm, adorable cats around, and I shared some seafood with them. I totally recommend Uncle John's tavern!

The staff were friendly and polite, but service was painfully slow. While we waited, four groups came and went without even ordering drinks because it took so long for anyone to acknowledge them. We stayed because the food had good reviews, but should have left. It was okay, though not worth the wait, and there’s better food nearby for less. They clearly need more staff and faster service. It might have been 4 or 5 stars without a wait that felt like it lasted forever.
