Splantza Apartments

A nice spot with lovely, clean apartments close to the beach. There are a lot of mosquitoes around the whole area, though.

A quiet, pleasant place with great hosts. The furniture is a little old, but the price makes it worthwhile.

Christina found us a bungalow at very short notice and she and her husband gave us such a warm welcome. We had morning coffee together and chatted with her mother-in-law as much as we could despite the language barrier. That evening we had delicious freshly prepared anchovies. Christina was so friendly and helpful, and we felt well cared for. She even let us pick lemons and oranges from her garden to take with us.

We’ve been returning to Ammoudia for years, and Villa Splantza is our first choice whenever an apartment is available. The apartments are simply but sufficiently furnished, spacious, quiet, and typical of Greece. Those in the main house are upstairs on the first floor or in the attic, with balconies; the two annexes have ground-floor apartments with garden access. All have air conditioning. Ammoudia’s lovely beach is about 200 meters away, and there’s a taverna just around the corner, with plenty more an easy walk away. The small supermarket is nearby too. The owners are helpful and friendly, and make you feel welcome. Apartment prices are reasonable.
