Villa Ionio

I wouldn't recommend staying here. Our room was unclean, the beds were very uncomfortable, and there was mold in the bathroom. Live wires stuck out from the bedside lamps, the bathroom door wouldn't close, and the balcony mosquito net didn't work. There were no panic lights in the rooms, only in the hallway. We didn’t have much contact with the hosts, so I can’t really comment on them. I do object to their partying, though. They played loud music and made a lot of noise around lunchtime.

We spent a week here in August and came away with nothing but strong recommendations. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, the rooms were a satisfying size, and the balcony was spacious. The kitchenette had all the functional essentials, plus some things for use in the outdoor kitchen, I think. We didn’t need those, but it was nice that they were available. Hot water was always there. Cleanliness was excellent, especially the sheets and towels, and the floors were always shining. The yard was lovely, with somewhere to sit outside, and the hall and reception were nicely decorated. Parking was never a problem even though every guest seemed to have a car. It’s a good spot near the beach and restaurants, across from a supermarket and a small children’s playground. The hosts were kind, polite, and hardworking. There were always people around the property, which made it feel safe too.

The bed and pillow were really comfortable, and the host was very kind. She gave me helpful advice and suggestions for my trip. The place is beautifully decorated and very close to the beach. Such warm hospitality!

We arrived to find no clean sheets or towels. I asked for them, then had to put them on myself. The room wasn’t very clean and was far too small for a family of 4. The toilet seemed ready to fall apart, the door wouldn’t shut, the faucet kept running, and there was no soap. Worst of all was the refrigerator. Its inside was completely broken, with no shelves for food, and it smelled so bad that sleeping in the room was impossible. The landlady was very rude too. I’d never stay in this villa again, especially not with children.
