The host is ready to help with whatever you need, and the place was clean inside and out. It’s a lovely villa with a well-designed, tasteful space, a great pool for swimming or unwinding, and its own BBQ area.

The pool looks stunning at night, and during the day there’s a sunbathing spot with loungers beside it. The villa itself is beautiful and very clean. Our owner was really kind, and it was reassuring to know we could rely on someone. We were six people and paid about 4,400 NIS for four nights, which felt like good value. The house is a five-minute walk from the beach and a few minutes by car from Hersonissos, in eastern Crete. A bus stop is just two minutes away, with buses to Heraklion in the west, farther north, and to Agios Nikolaos on the other side of the island. There’s a large pool in front of the house and four seating areas, each with at least six chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped, and even disposable utensils are provided, which came in handy for taking food on walks or if you keep kosher and don’t want to bring or prepare lots of utensils. There’s also a big gas barbecue for fish, meat and other food. Inside, the spacious living room has comfortable large sofas, a big-screen TV with free Netflix and the option to connect a personal phone. Free WiFi is available throughout the stay. The three bedrooms each have a double bed and come with two body towels and one hand towel. There are also two large, attractive bathrooms with hairdryers. One downside is that tap water isn’t drinkable, so you need to keep bottled water from the supermarket on hand. I understand this may be the case across the island, and there are plenty of shops, so getting water is easy. We really enjoyed it. The pool at night is gorgeous!
