Ilia Palms (Grecotel LUXME Palms) We’ve visited Riviera Olympia Resort many times, and this time we tried Ilia Palms for a few days. It sits farther from the beach among pine and eucalyptus trees, so the setting feels calm and shaded. Relaxing by the pool in that scent was lovely. Like the sister hotels, it gives access to all the resort facilities, including pools, restaurants, beaches, and the mega aqua park. The hotel itself felt quite dated, though. Cleaning was disappointing, and even after we raised it at reception, the room and corridors still seemed neglected, as if that were the usual standard. We’d also seen guest reviews describing the property as worn and in need of renovation. Next time we’ll go back to our beloved neighboring hotel, Riviera, where we spent the rest of our holiday in comfort and happiness.

At 300€ a night, this hotel was overpriced and the rooms didn’t meet the standard I expected. We had ants and cockroaches visiting the bathroom. The internet was slower than a psdn connection, for those old enough to remember that, and cellphone reception was far from normal. The food was plentiful but bland. Palms is an old building with some renovated touches in the rooms, but nowhere near a five-star hotel. Meals were served at Oasis for three hotels, Palms, Riviera, and Oasis, and there was a queue to get into the restaurant every time. The water park was good, but unless that’s your only reason for coming, I don’t think it’s worth the price.

We loved our stay. The food was fresh, full of flavor, and offered plenty of choice, and they even prepared breakfast boxes for early excursions. Staff were welcoming and helpful throughout. Getting around the huge, beautifully kept grounds was easy thanks to the golf carts, which take you where you need to go. There are lots of pools, open 24/7, and the Pool Bar had a great atmosphere and delicious cocktails. The drinks across the resort were consistently good. We came away with a wonderful impression of the setting and service, and recommend the hotel wholeheartedly.

The location is peaceful, and the pools were clean. We had delicious food at the restaurant, with plenty of variety, especially at dinner. Our room was modern and comfortable, and the hotel was extremely clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and ready to help. I’d happily come back and would recommend it.

Palms is the oldest of the three or four Grecotel hotels, and it really feels too old. Our room wasn’t very clean and didn’t feel worth the money. A lot of the facilities, including meals and beach access, are at the other hotels, so you need to switch properties to use them. It’s a 5-10 minute walk, or you can take one of the golf carts that come around every 15 minutes. You’re allowed to use the other hotels’ facilities, including their pools. Personally, I liked the Palms pool best because it was the warmest and quietest. The Grecotel hotels have a huge range of facilities, with more details in the app. The aqua park has some very nice slides for older kids and adults too, and the food is tasty with lots of choice and plenty of it. We spent most of our time enjoying the facilities, which were well worth it, but after seeing the other Grecotel hotels we regretted not booking one of them. We were really disappointed by the age of the building and the rooms.
