Helidonia

We had a great stay in this lovely, well-kept complex. It's set a little outside town among olive groves, so having a car is definitely necessary, though beaches, tavernas, and shops are only a few minutes' drive away. The 16 apartments are spotless and have what you need, with toiletries and other amenities provided; you can borrow parasols too. The large pool has beautiful views, and the friendly host family was always available to help. It was very child-friendly, and the other guests were a varied, considerate mix. Breakfast can be arranged on request, or fresh bread and milk can be delivered each day. The beds could have been a bit softer for us, though that's personal taste. A laundry facility would also be useful since there's no laundromat nearby. Those are small points, and we really enjoyed our time here. Highly recommended.

We have lovely memories of our three weeks here each summer from 2011 to 2014, and Helidonia still feels like a little oasis with very friendly hosts. The resort is beautiful, and we'd gladly recommend it. The sandy beach nearby, about 2 kilometers away, is one of the loveliest in Greece. Back in 2014, the air conditioning was in the separate living and dining area rather than the bedroom, so we moved our mattresses there at night. It seems both rooms have air conditioning now. After 2014, we always went to the Azores instead. The summer climate suits us better as we're getting older, with temperatures no higher than 25 degrees Celsius and the Atlantic reaching 23 degrees Celsius in August. We plan to book Helidonia again when we're both retired, probably in September, when perhaps we won't need air conditioning. You can't go wrong staying here, and we're sure you'll want to return.

Gerlinde, Toni, and Yannis are wonderful hosts, and such charming people. The place is peaceful and harmonious, with the kind of relaxed holiday we keep coming back for. It's a high-quality stay at reasonable prices, not a mass-market operation. Even when years pass between visits, we're longing for Helidonia again almost as soon as we get home. Pure relaxation!

My husband picked our holiday this year, and he couldn't have chosen better! Everything is so carefully looked after that you understand it the moment you arrive. What really stayed with me was the owners' warmth. They were kind, helpful, always smiling, and showed so much love to their guests. That's rare these days.
