Maria and Kostas make the Egli special. They’re friendly, accommodating, and care about their island as well as making guests feel welcome. The phenomenal breakfast is packed with homemade goods from their nearby farm, and staying here seems to directly support the local community. The hotel is small, family-run and right in central Chora. The spacious, comfortable rooms have high ceilings and shuttered balconies over the pedestrian street. In the shoulder season, it was quiet enough to sleep with the windows open and enjoy a cool Aegean breeze from just meters away. The street might be noisy in summer, though. It’s hard to imagine finding a cleaner, more comfortable place to stay in Chora.

Maria and Kosta made us feel like family. The hotel is perfectly placed in the heart of Chora, Andros, and Kosta gave us lots of useful ideas for trips around the island. Our room was beautiful, and Maria’s homemade marmalades at breakfast were delicious. Everything was wonderful.

The room and building are beautiful and comfortable, and our balcony looked over the cutest little square. The location is perfect, but it was the people, especially Maria, who made the stay special. She’s the nicest person and the best chef on the island. We loved our time here and hope to be back very soon!

My husband and I loved our three nights at the Egli hotel. The downtown Chora location, beautiful building and clean room were all great, and we especially appreciated the kindness and hospitality from Maria and Zoe. Our stay was perfect. Maria, we won’t forget your yummy treats!
