We spent a week in July at the Makarias villa and were completely happy with the accommodation. The hosts were welcoming and friendly, and provided all the amenities to help us feel comfortable. The villa was new and nicely decorated, with a lovely pool and stunning views of the Aegean Sea. The small terrace enclosed with glass was a real plus on windy days. We'd highly recommend it and will definitely return!

We stayed in Makarias II at the end of July 2024 and had a great view of both sunrise and sunset. The villa is brand new and well equipped, with care taken over every detail. They even gave us breakfast for the first morning and a bottle of wine. Highly recommend. Thank you!

The amenities were new and the bed was quite comfortable. Getting there was easy, and the hosts offered us a transfer, though we chose to drive ourselves. Unfortunately nobody was there to welcome us, and when we couldn't reach them at checkout, we left the keys on the door. We visited out of season. There wasn't a supermarket nearby, and the villa only had water and coffee, so bring all the basics if you stay. The pool wasn't heated when we arrived and stayed at the same temperature for hours. When we told the hosts, they replied, “OK, we will check it,” which made it seem like it hadn't been checked beforehand.

The staff were great and took care of everything we needed. We loved the adorable, very comfortable accommodation and the beautiful outdoor pool area, though the strong wind and cool weather meant we couldn't enjoy it much. Next time we'd choose the other unit with the enclosed glass outdoor area. It was very windy during our stay.

We thought Villa Makarias was ideally located, with a magnificent view and a lovely authentic style. The welcome was excellent, including transfer from the ferry, check-in was quick, and the advice we got was helpful without being overdone. The value compared with rentals on the surrounding islands was very attractive, and we'd gladly return. The one downside was the bedding. The mattress was really uncomfortable and below what you'd expect for a place like this, so it should be replaced soon. I have no doubt the owner will take care of it.
