The rooms in this hotel in Ano Padina were terribly small and not suitable for three people. After we came back at the end of the day, we discovered the owner had forgotten to turn on the boiler, so we had to shower in cold water. Breakfast cost 10 euros per person, or 30 euros for the three of us, which felt completely exorbitant. The owner, who also thinks of himself as a chef, had promised something special, but served turbid soup in the morning, salad, some cheese, and sausage. There were no eggs, pie, yogurt, or anything else. We left hungry and angry, feeling we'd been robbed in broad daylight. The whole attitude was shameful and disappointing. This was the most horrible hospitality we've experienced in Greece, and we will never return. I hate writing bad things about a place that hosted me, but this time it felt unavoidable. Terrible hospitality, stay away.

The food was the highlight for me. Breakfast changed each morning, there was more than we could eat, and the freshly squeezed orange juice smelled wonderful as it arrived. Nikos is a great cook and will make dinner on request if you give him a day's notice. There's no set menu, he asks what you like and prepares Greek food with very local ingredients and a French twist. We stayed three nights. The main house and rooms are decorated like the perfect setting for English afternoon tea. Ask Nikos to show you his fascinating collection of tea sets and other antiques.

Yiannis and Stavroula welcomed us warmly, and breakfast was fresh and really tasty. The service was excellent, and the property has such a still, peaceful feel, almost like time has stopped there. Ano Pedina is a super cute place. Just keep in mind the rooms may not suit you if you want a really large one.

We had a great stay in a quiet spot, and the couple running the place were warm and welcoming. They shared some really good tips for sightseeing and hiking. The rooms were clean and cozy, and the heating worked well, which matters a lot in this area at this time of year. Breakfast was freshly made, and they were happy to accommodate changes. The bathroom could use an upgrade, and the WiFi was sometimes poor.
