Sariza Spring Hotel

The people are what make this place special. The owners and staff offer service that feels warm and genuine, and they make you feel at home. We were genuinely sad to leave, and my wife, our two kids, and I will definitely come back. This family-run historic hotel is in a lovely little mountain village near the city of Andros, close to the Sariza water spring. The village has a calm, cool feel, with rural greenery and stone houses, some of them iconic, while the sea and the lively Cycladic island life are only a few minutes away by car. The spacious backyard feels like a traditional Greek village square, shaded by century-old Platanus trees. Out front, a large veranda looks across the grand bleu of the Aegean. Getting up early to watch the sunrise colors over the deep blue horizon is well worth it. The spring water is described as a source of health and well-being, and that alone is a reason to stay.

The balcony views are hard to beat, especially at sunrise, when the sun comes up over the Aegean. Sariza Spring Hotel is set on a mountain slope in Apikia, a beautiful village on Andros in the Cyclades, surrounded by greenery and natural springs with water running down from the mountain. The hotel is clean, the setting is lovely, and the service and hospitality deserve praise. Manager Ms Evangelia Manousou was a gem. I came from Australia for a few days on Andros in June 2023, at the start of my Greek journey, and it was one of the most therapeutic starts to the trip I could have had. The island’s turquoise swimming waters are only a few kilometres away. This felt like paradise to me, and I’d recommend it 1000%. Thank you, Ms Manousou. I hope to return and enjoy everything here again, and the boost it gave my psychological, emotional, mental, intellectual, spiritual, and physical well-being.

The rooms are large, the hotel is very clean, and there’s plenty of parking. The staff were helpful, and the location, views, and fresh air were all amazing. I’d suggest upgrading the pool area. Breakfast could use more variety too, perhaps with fresh local products.

The view was fantastic, and the food was superb at a very reasonable price. My wife and I felt very welcome thanks to the owner’s excellent hospitality. It was my first time on Andros, and the island felt like magic. We visited Hora, the capital, with its nice shops and good prices. What sets the place apart from others I’ve visited is the architecture: traditional houses and hotels no more than two or three floors high, without ugly cement monstrosities. I’d recommend it for families without young children. The island hasn’t been exploited yet, and if someone asks whether I’d visit Andros again, I’d say yes. It’s paradise, with crystal-clear water from the springs.
