Eliathos Hillside Retreat

The gardens are really well kept, and the staff were so kind and helpful. We stayed in a fantastic apartment with incredible views, and the little pool was excellent. Such a beautiful place.

The gardens and views were very nice, and the pool was attractive and pleasant. The accommodation itself was lovely, with good beds and special doors everywhere to keep mosquitoes out. Very good! Bedside lights and a dishwasher would have been nice additions.

We spent three nights at Eliathos, and I’ll definitely stay here again on my next trip to Irakleio. It’s a great spot for relaxing and switching off, yet the nearest town is close enough to walk to for a raki or coffee. Leave the luggage behind, though, as the road is quite steep. The staff were friendly and very helpful. At the last minute, the local council decided to pave the only road to the hotel, a situation outside the staff’s control, and they handled it with care and professionalism. The garden is well looked after, and the gardener was very nice and easy-going. Our cosy, clean room had comfortable beds and pillows, and more than enough amenities. Breakfast was very nice, especially the bruschettas, and sitting outside in the morning breeze made it even better. I did wish the pool were deeper, though with its relatively short length that may not be possible. The location, the view and the sound of cicadas made up for it.

We stayed in the Avgerinos studio by the pool. It was super clean, fully equipped and had a warm, relaxing design. The house and setting are wonderful, and Archanes and the surrounding area are amazing. It’s very close to Archanes, but you’ll need a car to explore further. Communication with Nikos and Fofi was perfect. We recommend it and will definitely come back!
