Lorenzo Hotel

The location is great, with lots of restaurants nearby. The pool area was very well kept, and the bar served a good selection of snacks. Our room was cleaned and serviced daily. The stay felt very basic and dated, though, and definitely like a two-star hotel. The optional air-conditioning charge of €7 per night came as a surprise when we arrived. The room didn’t look much like the brochure pictures. It had old furniture and a tiny shower area that flooded the floor. Breakfast was poor: the croissants and other bakery items were too hard, and the Greek yoghurt came in tasteless portions in little pots. It was practically the same each day, with only the occasional change of fruit, and looked just like pictures in other reviews from years ago. For a budget holiday, the location works well. It’s a good base if you want to spend time by the pool or explore the island.

The location is a real plus, with the beach about 100 yards away and a supermarket, bars and restaurants around 50 yards away. There’s a bus stop across the road, and taxis come quickly. The pool and bar are better than average, and the rooms were spotless, so thanks to the staff. I wasn’t sure about the European-style breakfast at first, but I ended up enjoying it as a nice change. I’d recommend the place, even though it’s only rated 3 stars.

We had a fantastic week at this small, lovely hotel. The grounds were immaculate, the staff were fantastic, and our room was spotless and cleaned each day. The beach is an easy walk, and every restaurant we tried served great food. My one complaint was the shower curtain, which didn’t keep the wet-room floor from getting soaked. A non-slip mat or board would help. I’d highly recommend staying here.

The staff were especially helpful when our package ended in the morning but our flight wasn’t until evening. They gave us towels, kept our luggage, and let us freshen up and collect our things before we left for the airport, which made the day easy to spend exploring and at the beach. Our room had a lovely sea view and was cleaned daily. The hotel also has a pool with shallow and deep sections, a sauna and a spa center. The bathroom was quite small, and I didn’t always like the shower curtain. Breakfast came with our package, but it was repetitive, short on variety and not very appetizing.
