Papadatos Studios

The best things about the room were the air conditioning and the location. The booking process was confusing: I searched for Argostoli Rooms, they accepted our reservation, then called us back two days later to say we’d be staying at papadatos studios because it seems Argostoli Rooms doesn’t exist. We asked for a double bed but got two singles pushed together. They separated when someone slept in the middle, which was very uncomfortable. There were dirty marks on the sheets and ashtray, and after we marked a corner of the sheets, it was still the same four days later. That suggests they weren’t changed daily. We also found hair on the bed when we first entered the room. Just disgusting.

The owner was polite and discreet, and the room was cleaned every day. It was a good size, with a small balcony and shower, and had all the amenities we needed. The location is handy for the port ferry to Lixouri and the restaurants on Argostoli’s main pedestrian street. We appreciated the big fridge, mini cooker, hair dryer, multi-socket, and reliable WiFi.

The location puts you right by the center of Argostoli, close to everything but away from the main road’s hustle and bustle. The owner, a very friendly and helpful guy from Athens, made us feel welcome. The rooms are basic but have what you need, including air conditioning, a TV, and a kitchen where you can make morning coffee or prepare a meal. Parking is available on the hotel’s streets and nearby, though it’s obviously full in the evenings. I’d recommend it to anyone staying in Argostoli.
