The house itself is lovely and traditional, and the kitchen has everything we needed. There was hot water, a washing machine, and fast, reliable internet. Mixalis replied to messages very quickly, recommended beautiful beaches, brought us fruit and eggs from his farm, and invited us to a restaurant. But the cleaning was disappointing. There was dust and hair all over the floors, and the fridge wasn't properly clean either. From our first day through all three weeks, smells came from the toilet and sink. We raised the cleaning issue the day after we arrived, but nothing was offered to fix it, so we spent several hours cleaning, especially the floors and bathroom. This is an easy problem to address, and with that sorted, it would be a very pleasant base for exploring the area.

The host was wonderful, very kind, and shared his home-grown vegetables and wine with us. We had the whole house and pool to ourselves. It's a beautiful home in a quiet village near the seaside city of Rethymno, and we loved our stay.

The villa is even better in person than the photos suggest, and the whole holiday was one of my best. Our host brought fresh produce and locally made liquor, then treated us to a fantastic dinner with his lovely family on our last night. I'd return in a heartbeat.

For a few relaxing weeks in Crete, this is a great place to stay, with everything close by. The owner was polite, kind, and helpful. I'd recommend Villa Estia to anyone planning a wonderful Crete holiday. You can count on a good stay.

I had a great time in this peaceful, comfortable accommodation. It had everything needed to unwind and feel at ease, and was equipped just like a home. The owner was hospitable and kind, while also being very discreet.
