Ermou Street is a fantastic base, with loads of restaurants, shops, and bars nearby, and Syntagma and Monastiraki squares close enough to make exploring easy. The apartment was spacious, cozy, clean, and well equipped on the 6th floor, with controlled entry at both the building and apartment doors. Just remember that fresh towels and linens are supplied on request, which matters for a longer stay. The shower was the big letdown. Water drained so slowly that it pooled around our feet. The host tried a chemical drain opener, but it didn’t fix things, and the pressure then became extremely weak, apparently to keep water from overflowing too quickly. We were left with a puddle and a poor shower. We expected either compensation or a lasting repair, but got neither. The design and location are excellent, but check whether the plumbing issue has been sorted before booking. With that fixed, this could be a five-star stay.

Getting here from the airport was straightforward: from the central train station, just keep walking straight to the accommodation. It’s right in the middle of the shops, Acroprolis, and museum, with a nice coffee shop and bar downstairs. Despite that, it wasn’t noisy.

Suite CK1, or 301, faces the street and gets noisy at night, right through to about 4 a.m. It’s basically an Airbnb type of place at best.

Apartment 402 was comfortable for a couple, clean, private, secure, and nicely equipped. It was surprisingly quiet too. The location is the main plus, with metro and train stations, buses, trams, shops, restaurants, and takeaways all nearby. The one downside is that there’s no view. Otherwise, it was perfect.

The kitchen was really well set up, and the apartment itself was clean and modern. It’s in a great spot, close to the main shopping road.
