Amalia Athens Hotel

The hotel is right in the heart of Athena, next to Syntagama metro station. The rooms were clean and had all the necessary amenities. We got a free upgrade to a nicer room on our first night, then a complimentary bottle of wine when we came back for our second night a week later. Breakfast was lovely, filling, and had plenty of variety. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Just about 100 meters from Syntagma Metro Station, the location made it very easy to get around Athens and reach the main attractions. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, a relaxing place to return to after exploring. Staff throughout the hotel were consistently friendly, professional, and attentive. Pauagiota at reception deserves a special mention. She was exceptionally welcoming and helpful, and went out of her way to make sure everything went smoothly. Her kindness and professionalism made a lasting impression. I had a wonderful stay at Amalia Hotel Athens and would highly recommend it.

The rooftop terrace was the highlight for me. I didn't eat at the restaurant, but the view from up there is unbelievable, a full 360° over Athens, including Lycabettus Hill, the Acropolis, and the Stadium. It's a wonderful spot for a drink. The bathroom was the one drawback: the shower was over a narrow, very small tub with a curtain, which felt awkward and a bit dated. I hadn't picked Amalia Hotel myself, the event organization booked it for us. They managed the event arrangements and large group of attendees very professionally. My room was clean and spacious enough. The hotel is right near Syntagma, one of the main squares, with restaurants and shops all around. It's a fantastic, convenient area and felt safe for evening walks. For the location, cleanliness, and view, it's a solid 4-star option, particularly for business travel or anyone wanting to stay centrally.

Good breakfast and a prime location, though the price felt a bit high. The gym is very small. We noticed a sewer smell from the shower drain and reported it. They came by quickly, which helped, but didn't completely fix it. There probably isn't a goose neck.
