For what I paid, this was exceptional value. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was fantastic. The location is great, close to a local metro station for getting into Athens and to the port. My room was spotless, with a fridge, a decent shower, plenty of plug sockets, a comfortable bed, and a decent hair dryer in the bathroom.

This was my second stay, and I think very highly of the hotel. It’s centrally located and close to all the transport systems. If you’re looking for a great hotel in Athens, Greece, this one deserves lots of stars. You won’t be disappointed!

Update: two days after leaving Argo, I was covered in insect bites. I remember getting bitten during the night and thought they were mosquitoes, but I never heard any. Mosquito bites feel different, so I’m now pretty sure they were bed bugs. Sorry, but I won’t stay again. This is the cheapest place in central Athens, so you get what you pay for. The rooms are small, there are noisy neighbors and mosquitoes that eat you alive, and the main thing going for it is the low price. There’s Wi-Fi, a TV, and a wash basin in the room. Warning: bed bugs.

There was no laundry and no internet in the rooms. The stairs were very dirty, and nobody cleaned them all week. Only one person at reception spoke English, though that person was good, and this caused problems throughout the stay. Sometimes there was no hot water, and sometimes there was no light on some floors.

Minus five stars! Bedbugs ate me alive, and now I need to go to the hospital. This place should be shut down by law!
