Athenian Heritage Residences

I stayed in suite 1 and suite 3, and both had roomy balconies looking out over the avenues, lots of natural light and lovely sunsets that I really enjoyed. The apartments themselves are clean, modern, spacious and well designed, and some have a huge bathtub. Check-in by phone with the owner was quick and convenient. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, and the location is handy for the National Archaeological Museum. The Acropolis and Plaka are about 3 km away. I’d strongly recommend staying here and would definitely return.

The large balcony had a great view over the city, though the busy main road is very noticeable when you’re out there. Reaching central spots like Plaka, the Acropolis and the Zeus Statue takes another 15-20 minutes by bus or taxi. Inside, the suite is very big, modern and clean, with a well-stocked kitchen. The only fault I found was a light above the bath that flickered.

The room was new and modern, and its equipment was in mint condition. The location was convenient too, with a subway, cafés and supermarkets within walking distance. The host’s chat service responded right away. There were some drawbacks during our one-night stay. Traffic from what seemed to be a busy main road came through at night because the soundproofing wasn’t very effective. The freshly changed sheets and towels had stains, perhaps stubborn marks that laundry couldn’t remove, so it would be good for cleaning staff to check them more carefully. With no reception, checking in and out was quicker, but getting help at night was difficult. We couldn’t get replacement towels or sheets when we needed them.

A clean room with tasteful decor and a great view. The management was very helpful, and the subway station is only a short walk away. A good choice for a short or medium-length stay in Athens.
