We were disappointed by our March 8 to March 12 stay at Aria Hotel 1890. We had booked three double rooms with breakfast, but nobody told us that the hotel bar and restaurant would be closed for renovations. Breakfast was moved to a partner café, where the oven wasn't working, and we waited around 40 minutes just to get a croissant. We raised this with the manager and were told the breakfast cost would be refunded at checkout. But at checkout, I learned my card had already been charged in full four days before arrival, without any notice. The promised refund still hasn't come through. I also wanted to use the spa and pool, but was told I could only get access by booking a €145 massage. That condition hadn't been made clear and felt misleading. Communication and transparency were poor, and the way complaints were handled felt unprofessional. For the price, the stay didn't meet expectations. I wouldn't recommend this hotel or stay here again.

The air conditioning kept switching off overnight, so our room never got down to the 16-20°C we set. It stayed closer to 24-26°C, and we woke up sweating. I called for help the first night, and someone came to get it running again. The same thing happened on nights two and three, even after we asked the front desk to fix it. Different staff suggested different things, but nothing worked, and with every room full they couldn't move us.

We had a lovely stay at Athens 1890 while visiting Athens for a special occasion. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the location was excellent, and the hotel had a warm feel. The staff were all friendly and professional, but Eleni especially made the visit memorable. She was warm, helpful, and always went out of her way to make sure we had what we needed, along with great local tips. We'd happily return and recommend the hotel.

We arrived in the evening to a room at 25 degrees, and it quickly climbed to 27.5. I asked reception twice for help setting the air conditioning. After my second call, they brought a fan and suggested opening the windows. They offered us an hour in the spa for the inconvenience, which was relaxing. The staff were excellent.

A nice room, a good breakfast, and friendly staff. The location worked well too, since everywhere we wanted to visit was within walking distance.
