The dorms were laid out well, with air conditioning, a small balcony and a clean shower and toilet room. The staff were really good, and there were plenty of like-minded travellers around with stories to share, so the atmosphere was great. For backpackers on a tight budget, this hostel is a must. It was far better than I expected for the price and location, and I can see why it’s so popular.

The room and bathroom were nice and clean, with one toilet and shower per room plus another on the floor. I liked that the curtains made the six-bed room dark enough. The beds squeak a bit. Towels are available to rent for 2 euros, and padlocks for the room’s lockers cost 3 euros.

The rooftop was quiet at night and had a nice view of the Acropolis and the city. We also found the area safe to walk around after dark, though some people might be wary of the location. Breakfast was reasonable, and there are plenty of other places within a five-minute walk. Our triple room was clean, cleaned daily, and came with fresh towels and shower products. The air conditioning worked well. We couldn’t find anything to fault.

Omonia isn’t the nicest area, but it has great public transport links and the main attractions are a 15-30-minute walk away. The facilities and bedrooms were very clean, well kept and well equipped. It wasn’t especially social, though that was probably because it was off peak season. A great stay.

We held a corporate event at Hawks Hostel, and the team made it run smoothly. With so many people, small problems were bound to come up, but staff handled them quickly and professionally, always with a positive attitude. Stamatia, the manager, was amazing and supportive throughout. George helped us at dinner, and the reception and bar staff all pitched in during the event and our stay. We’re grateful for the level of service and will definitely come back. It was a pleasure working with the team.
