Athens Woo Suites

The cathedral bells were the big problem for us. They rang every half hour through the night, sometimes with extra-long ringing, including at 06:50am on a Saturday for special occasions. The windows didn't block much sound, especially in the suite's living room, and even though I'm not a light sleeper, they woke me sometimes. At €300+ per night in the quietest part of the season, that's too much of an issue for me to stay again, and I can't give five stars. The hotel should work with local politicians to stop the bells at night. I'm not sure who benefits from this old-fashioned practice. Otherwise, it was an excellent stay. The rooms were spacious, modern, and beautifully finished, with large windows overlooking the town square and cathedral. Staff were welcoming and helpful, and breakfast had a good selection, including gluten-free and dairy-free options. There's also a small gym and a lift, and the central location is convenient for the sights. I can't fault the staff.

We loved the breakfast, especially the Greek yogurt, pastries, coffee, tea, and real juice, not concentrate. The food was filling, and they could serve it early if you had a morning tour or departure, though egg dishes weren't available before 8 AM. Breakfast with a view of the Acropolis buildings was lovely. The rooms and showers were large, and there was a ceiling fan in the bedroom. Service was the best we've had, the staff were so sweet, and the location made it easy to get to many places. With the bedroom door shut, we couldn't hear the church bells. We also travel with a white noise machine. This was our favorite hotel in Greece, and one of the best parts of Athens outside its history. We'll definitely be back!

We really liked Woo Suites and would stay again. The room was big, the location was perfect, and everyone we dealt with was super friendly and helpful. We were in room 4A, right by building works. They started at 5.30am one morning. The church bells also made the room noisy, so an alarm wasn't really needed. Those were minor issues, though, and I can't fault the place otherwise.

We found this gem through recommendations in several Tripadvisor forum threads. The location was perfect, just off Plaka's heavy traffic but only steps away. Our suite was just the right size, and breakfast had hearty, healthy options. The rooftop lounge looks out over the Acropolis. The concierge was amazing, and the whole team provided such good service that our trip felt carefree.
