The room was comfortable, modern, clean and well furnished, and the location was excellent, with the main attractions just a five-minute walk away and plenty of good food options nearby. Sleep was harder, though. Even though the street isn’t a main thoroughfare, traffic and loud cars kept passing well into the early hours. For the hotel’s price, that felt about what I’d expect.

The apartment was fine and relatively clean, though you have to pay extra for cleaning. For sightseeing and exploring the city, the location is great. But sound carries from the other apartments as well as from outside, and we were sleeping above a restaurant or club playing very loud music. They didn’t keep to the quiet hours up to 11 p.m. Since sleeping is the main reason to book accommodation in a city, I’m giving it a low score. If you want a good night’s sleep, don’t stay here.

The location was a pleasant surprise: everything is close on foot, with great restaurants and countless shops nearby. Syntagma Square is a five-minute walk away. We watched the changing of the guard there, exchanged money and installed our Fodafone SIM card. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the Acropolis through the charming Plaka neighborhood. The room was excellent and had what we needed, including a minibar, a perfect shower, an iron and a mini kitchen. The only thing needed for a 10 out of 10 would be a bigger TV, since it has Netflix and YouTube. My wife missed a magnifying mirror, a bidet and a closet. There’s only one coat rack. We highly recommend it.

After many stays in Athens, this is easily the worst place I’ve tried. Cars go by constantly, and every one seems to make the whole apartment vibrate. The windows and walls are so thin that they barely do anything, and the noise means you can’t get a decent night’s sleep. I may as well have been inside the music venue across the road, the volume was no different. The doors are the cheapest I’ve seen, and I can’t see how one is secure as an apartment’s front door. The listing said “sound proofed,” which is a joke and, in my view, a lie. I’ll be seeking my money back because of the misleading advertisement. Choose somewhere else.
