Our reservation was confirmed five months before the trip, and we'd already paid in full when, just three weeks before departure, the agency asked us to switch apartments without explaining why. The two alternatives they offered were farther from the city center and seemed much less appealing than the one we'd booked. They told us to cancel, then refunded the full amount. After planning so early, we'd lost five months, and it was now very late to find another apartment we liked. An owner like this could cancel a guest's booking even on the day of arrival without a penalty, and it seems possible this happens often. For us, it spoiled the first part of our holiday.

We spent a week in the DM17 appartment in August 2018 with my fiancé, and it was our first time in Athens. The place was clean and had everything we needed, a really good alternative to a hotel. We loved our stay. From the balcony you can see a small part of the Acropole. The apartment is right in the center, three minutes from Syngrou-Fix and about seven minutes on foot from Acropolis station. We walked to the Acropolis and its museums, as well as Plaka, with its restaurants and souvenir shops. If you like exploring on foot, Syntagma square, Monastiraki, Olympeion and more are within about 15-20 minutes. We booked the airport taxi through boutiqueathens, and getting to the apartment was easy. Before the trip, the team answered all our questions by email or phone and responded quickly. If we come back to Athens, we'd choose Boutique Athens services again without hesitation.

The apartments were clean and affordable, in great locations, and the staff were very helpful and informative. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a place to stay in Athens.

We picked our boutique apartment carefully, then were told on the morning we arrived that our booking had been switched to a different apartment in another location.
